Dr. Brenda L. Nivera
Dr. Brenda L. Nivera received a degree in microbiology from the University
of Maryland College Park before earning her Doctor of Dental Surgery
degree from the University of Maryland at Baltimore in 1984. She worked
for several practices in the Baltimore/Washington area before opening
her own practice in 1998.
Since 1991, Dr. Nivera has also served as a general dentist for the
Dentistry for the Homebound, which provides dental care to patients in
nursing homes. In 1997 she volunteered her dental services to a medical
mission to Luzon in the Philippines.
To keep her skills and knowledge current, Dr. Nivera takes at least
one continuing education program each month. Several of these have been
through the prestigious Pankey Institute for Advanced Dental Education
and the Seattle Institute of Advanced Dental Education. Her coursework
covers a wide range of topics including cosmetic dentistry, TMJ, endodontics,
implants, orthodontics and more.
She is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, the Bob Barkley
Study Club, the Great Seneca Dental Study Club, and the L.D. Pankey Dental
Alumni Association.
Dr. Nivera enjoys traveling and scuba driving in her spare time. She
is a member of the United States Dental Diving Association.
