New Patient Exam
Because we want to get to know you and to understand your concerns
and desires, your first visit to our office will last approximately
two hours.
Since a good base is necessary for any dental treatment to be successful,
Dr. Nivera herself will do the comprehensive examination. She will
carefully check you teeth and probe your gums, checking for pockets
of infection.
Dr. Nivera will take the time to explain everything that she is doing,
and why, and answer any questions that you may have. She will ask you
to share any concerns or issues that you have about your oral health
or your dental care so she can address any of those issues in her treatment
plans.
Preventive Care Services
Our preventive care services will help you keep your teeth
and gums healthy for a lifetime. As we work to restore you to
optimal
oral health, we’ll also educate you about how you can maintain
it. We start with the basics, such as how to properly brush your
teeth. (Some patients have told us, “No one has ever really
showed me how to do this!”)

Gum Disease
If you want a healthy smile, you have to start with a good base. That’s why it’s so important to diagnose and properly treat periodontal (gum) disease.
If your gums are swollen and tender or bleed easily when you brush your teeth, you may be suffering from periodontal disease. We provide in-house treatment, or, in some cases, work with local periodontists (specialists in treating gum disease).
